ABOUT LOUYI FERRIN BELTRÁN

Louyi Ferrin, a Brooklyn-based film photographer originally from Colon, Panama, brings a gritty and raw perspective to his work, capturing urban realities through photography. Louyi’s family moved to Alabama when he was just four years old, he later moved to New York, where he’s shot everything. He has always felt that the world itself is his true teacher, shaping his artistic eye and sensibilities to showcase real life through the dying art of film.Photography runs in Louyi's family; his mother started as a crimescene photographer, and his grandfather was a village photographerin Panama and Colombia. This heritage deeply influenced him, leading him to pick up a camera at a young age. By his teenage years, he was focused on photojournalism, shooting portraits that captureunspoken narratives. In his work, Louyi continues to focus on bringing attention to voicesoften overlooked by mainstream media.
